1. Dallas City Council adjusts housing policy, homebuyer assistance program

During a Feb. 22 meeting, Dallas City Council approved amendments to the city’s comprehensive housing policies to help homebuyers obtain loans.

2. Dallas City Council green-lights TxDOT I-345 hybrid plan with conditions

Dallas City Council voted to approve a recommendation from the Texas Department of Transportation on how to rebuild I-345 on May 24.


3. Dallas bans nearly all short-term rentals with new zoning ordinance

After an hourslong debate during a meeting that lasted almost until midnight on June 14, Dallas City Council voted to approve new rules that effectively ban most short-term rentals from the city.

4. Dallas commissioning traffic study on Abrams Road in Lakewood

Dallas City Council approved a contract with the consultant Lee Engineering during its Aug. 9 meeting to conduct a traffic study on Abrams Road.


5. Dallas’ $4.6B budget lowers property taxes, expands city services

Dallas City Council voted to approve the budget Sept. 20 after nearly two months of meetings and back-and-forth debates over the property tax rate.
