Some city of Dallas offices and facilities are scheduled to close in recognition of Thanksgiving. The holiday falls on Nov. 23.

The details

These Dallas services and facilities will be closed on these dates because of the holiday:

• All Dallas Public Library locations: closing at 5 p.m. Nov. 22, closed Nov. 23-24
• Sanitation transfer stations and the McCommas Bluff Landfill: closed Nov. 23
• Dallas Park and Recreation administrative offices and maintenance facilities: closed Nov. 23-27
• Recreation centers: closed Nov. 23-24
• Dallas Animal Services: closed Nov. 23

Trash collection will not occur on the day of Thanksgiving. Instead, Thursday trash collections will happen Friday, Nov. 24, and Friday collections will happen Saturday, Nov. 25, according to a city news release.

The Dallas Water Utilities administrative and customer services offices will remain open.

For emergency service requests, residents may use the city’s 311 helpline. Nonemergency requests can be submitted through the city’s website or on the OurDallas mobile app.
