At its March 29 meeting, the city of Dallas’ Transportation Committee identified streetlight improvement priorities through next fiscal year. Dallas has more than 94,000 streetlights, less than 12% of which are energy-efficient LEDs. The committee outlined plans to convert most streetlights to LEDs within the next five to seven years through a maintenance agreement with the electric utility company Oncor, which owns more than 76% of city streetlights.
