Shoe Palace

Shoe Palace, a California-based shoe store company, is set to open in the Lake Highlands area.

Renovations on the 4,800-square-foot space finished in June, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. An opening date has not been announced, and Shoe Palace officials did not respond to requests for comment.

Shoe Palace is known for its variety of athletic footwear and apparel. The Lake Highlands store will open in the Skillman Abrams Crossing shopping mall.Birdies Eastside


Birdie’s Eastside is opening soon in Lakewood, a company representative said.

The restaurant will offer lunch and dinner options with wings and burgers on the menu. It will also offer beer, wine and cocktails.The Brass Tap

The Brass Tap is opening soon off of Greenville Avenue.

The restaurant will offer more than 50 beers on tap and a full food menu, including burgers, wings, tacos and more.
