The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to an explosion and subsequent fire on Jan. 8 at an electrical substation at Seventeen Lakes Boulevard and Henrietta Creek Road in Fort Worth, according to a FWFD Facebook post.

The details

A piece of equipment caught fire at the substation and the Roanoke Fire Department and Saginaw Texas Fire Department provided mutual aid for the incident. They worked with Oncor engineers to decide the best course of action to bring the incident to a close safely.

The fire was extinguished and the residents and business owners that had lost power had it restored quickly.

According to an Oncor representative, all residents who were powered by that substation were rerouted and should not experience any changes to their electricity.

Looking ahead

The substation will be repaired but there was no information on how long it will take.

There has been no updates on what caused the fire and there were no reported injuries.
