The construction is part of a contract with CommuteAir for its new facilities dedicated to commercial aviation, which will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Embraer aircrafts operating in CommuteAir’s fleet. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held June 24 for the new commercial airline facility.
When work on the two-hangar Fort Worth facility is complete, Embraer's capacity to serve United States aviation customers is expected to increase by 53%, according to a news release.

“CommuteAir is pleased to strengthen its partnership with Embraer by commencing heavy airframe maintenance at its new facility in Fort Worth,” said Lon Ziegler, CommuteAir’s vice president of technical operations, in a news release. “By working with our aircraft OEM, we will support our goals of ensuring the highest reliability for our ERJ145 fleet.”
The background
Fort Worth City Council approved incentives for Embraer’s new service center during an Oct. 15, 2024, meeting. The $70 million facility is expected to bring approximately 250 new aviation industry jobs to the region, according to previous reporting.
