The Fort Worth City Council approved two road work projects in District 10 during the June 10 meeting. The road work will occur in the eastern and western portions of the council district represented by Alan Blaylock.

The action taken

City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for rehabilitation and resurfacing of two roads in Precinct 3 for $900,000. The road work is slated to start in August and run through March 2026 on:
  • Katy Road, from Golden Triangle Boulevard to Keller Hicks Road
  • Willow Springs Road, from West Bonds Ranch Road to Mesa Crossing Drive
Tarrant County will provide all necessary labor and equipment for the work and the city of Fort Worth will pay for the cost of the material and other incidental costs, according to city documents.

Also on the agenda

Two new drainage crossings will be added on Keller Hicks Road, which will lead to two different road closures later this summer, according to city documents.

The first road closure will be on Keller Hick from Park Vista Boulevard to Gloriosa Drive from Aug. 5 to Oct. 3. The second road closure will be from Oct. 28 to Dec. 26 on Blue Jack Trail to Lauren Way, city documents state.

The project will replace the existing two-lane asphalt road with a three-lane concrete street and travel lanes in each direction.

The roadwork also includes a two-way left-turn lane; drainage; the relocation and replacement of an existing 12-inch PVC pipe; street lights; 10-foot sidewalks and American with Disabilities Act facilities, according to information provided to council.
