The city of Fort Worth will increase its participation in a stormwater improvement project on North Beach Street in the northeast part of town.

Put in perspective

Council approved an amendment to a community facility agreement with Hillwood Alliance Services for engineering costs for the project on North Beach Street between SH 170 and Saratoga Downs Way. The city added $156,000 for the engineering costs, according to city documents.

The additional funding comes from Service Area A and Service Area D transportation impact fees, each contributing $78,000, city documents stated. The fiscal year 2025-29 capital improvement program budget was also amended as part of the ordinance.

The total cost for the project is a little more than $5.4 million with the city paying $3.21 million and Hillwood paying $2.19 million, according to city documents.

Sorting out details

The original contract was approved Dec. 14, 2021, between the city and Hillwood to construct four lanes on North Beach Street from SH 170 to Saratoga Downs Way. This allows traffic to cross Alliance Gateway because the Alta Vista Drive crossing was reconfigured by TxDOT, according to city documents.

The city agreed to waive $10,619.50 owed by Hillwood Alliance Services to Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works for a community facilities agreement. According to city documents, the waiver is because the design and construction of public infrastructure will be owned and maintained by the city.
