Crews in Roanoke are working to complete construction on Denton and Houston streets, said Diane Rice, communications and public engagement office with the city.
The gist
The projects are on Denton and Houston streets between Oak and Walnut streets, near downtown. Houston and Denton streets work will include replacing the asphalt curbs with concrete and gutters, allowing space for parallel parking, the addition of a stormwater system, and adding sidewalks to both sides of the streets. The cost of the project is $1.8 million and is funded through capital improvement project funds, Rice said.
City documents shows the work would take 210 days from the start and will be completed no later than Dec. 18.
