Drivers will encounter construction this week as work started July 10 to repave Whitley Road between Rapp Road and Keller's southern border.
According to Keller’s e-newsletter, Tarrant County crews are expected to close the road to through traffic with drivers detoured to Willis Lane between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Weather permitting, this partnership project between the city and county is expected to wrap up by the end of August. Work will start on the project's north end, just below the Whitley/Rapp intersection.
The e-newsletter also stated city staff anticipates discussing a more extensive project with residents in the future that could include drainage improvements, pedestrian upgrades or some widening along this section of Whitley Road.
According to the e-newsletter, residents who live within the construction zone will have access to their homes throughout the project thanks to flaggers on site. Crews will work to accommodate mail and delivery vehicles as well as garbage and recycling trucks.
