The city of Roanoke has begun a road construction project on a nearly 3-mile portion of Litsey Road stretching from North Beach Street to Hwy. 114.
Road crews will complete construction and road repairs beginning Aug. 24. The roadway will be partially closed to one lane only through Aug. 28.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but these repairs are much needed," city spokesperson Morgan Roundy said. "We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter."
Throughout the duration of the project, the closure will only affect one lane at a time, and closed lanes will alternate to accommodate traffic patterns, Roundy said.
The Litsey project coincides with Texas Department of Transportation work on Hwy. 377.
In addition to the Litsey closure, drivers should be aware of potential delays on Business 114, Byron Nelson Boulevard, on Aug. 25 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
"Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic," Roundy said. "If you need to travel in this area [Aug. 25], please allow extra time."
