Construction is underway to build new streets around Roanoke City Hall and Roanoke City Center. The new roadways will include Crockett Street, Parish Lane, Peabody Way and Monroe Avenue as well as a section of Union Avenue. A roundabout at Peabody and Monroe will also be built.

Additionally, work will also include installing curbs and gutters; constructing sidewalks; installing trees, landscaping, park benches and street lighting; and building 166 parallel parking spaces.
