Bear Creek Park is getting a new playground structure as approved by Keller City Council at an Oct. 1 meeting.
Located on Bear Creek Park Road, the 2,320-square-foot playground is a replacement of Keller’s oldest playground first built in 1995.
The playground replacement comes as a result of GameTime, a commercial playground equipment company, which awarded the city a $27,000 grant for the playground.
Several Keller residents requested more shade at city playgrounds, said a city official during council’s work session. The Bear Creek Park playground will include incorporated shade.
The $96,000 playground comes from the city’s parks capital improvement project fund.
