4. JR’s BBQ-N-More is opening a storefront at 121 Rufe Snow Drive, Ste. 127, in Keller Town Center in early 2022, according to owner JR Herrera and his wife, Vanessa Herrera. The barbecue stop first started in 2017 serving breakfast tacos in the morning and barbecue in the afternoon to the community in its food truck at the Keller Farmers Market as well as other local events. JR Herrera said they decided to open a storefront because they felt it was time for more space, since the trailer is somewhat limiting. However, once the storefront opens, they will still use the food truck for special events. Vanessa Herrera, who works on the behind-the-scenes aspects of JR’s BBQ-N-More, said she and her husband both grew up in family-owned restaurants. She said opening the storefront “is our step into that family tradition.”
