3. Anderson Distillery & Grill will open at 400 S. Oak St., Ste. 100, Roanoke, in January, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. The restaurant had previously planned to open sometime this fall. The restaurant, grill and distillery “focuses on small batch spirits utilizing Texas-sourced products,” according to a Facebook post by the restaurant, and it specializes in rum, vodka, gin and whiskey. Anderson Distillery & Grill will also serve a variety of grilled entrees that are seasoned with a homemade, coffee-infused seasoning called “Joe’s Rub,” the restaurant’s website stated. 817-203-0623. www.andersondistillery.com

4. JR’s BBQ-N-More is opening a storefront at 121 Rufe Snow Drive, Ste. 127, in Keller Town Center in early 2022, according to owner JR Herrera and his wife, Vanessa Herrera. The barbecue stop first started in 2017 serving breakfast tacos in the morning and barbecue in the afternoon to the community in its food truck at the Keller Farmers Market as well as other local events. JR Herrera said they decided to open a storefront because they felt it was time for more space, since the trailer is somewhat limiting. However, once the storefront opens, they will still use the food truck for special events. Vanessa Herrera, who works on the behind-the-scenes aspects of JR’s BBQ-N-More, said she and her husband both grew up in family-owned restaurants. She said opening the storefront “is our step into that family tradition.”

5. A Tropical Smoothie Cafe is coming soon to 1501 Keller Parkway in Keller. However, the company wrote in a Facebook message to Community Impact Newspaper that “it's still a bit early to nail down a specific” date for its grand opening. The smoothie shop sells a variety of smoothies in addition to wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, quesadillas, salads, breakfast items and more. 770-821-1900. www.tropicalsmoothiecafe.com
