Across the Times Home Furnishings will celebrate five years of business as an integrated furniture store and design studio in December. Owner Kim Murphy initially opened the business in 2013, but it was rebranded to include a design element in 2014. It is co-owned by Kim's son, Taylor. The Murphys offer home decor products and consultation services for residential and commercial properties. Across the Times can be found at 208 S. The decision may ultimately lie with Gov. Greg Abbott and the rest of the State Preservation Board, which last year authorized the removal of a plaque in the Capitol that said slavery was not an underlying cause of the Confederate rebellion.
