Keller’s mayoral seat is up for election in May 2026. Keller’s current mayor, Armin Mizani, is campaigning for the Texas House District 98 seat during the same election.
The Texas Constitution normally prohibits individuals from holding more than one paid civil office at the same time. McMullin is expected to serve as acting mayor for the final six months of Mizani’s term if Mizani is elected for District 98, according to previous reporting.
“I’m ready to take Keller to the next level and keep delivering on a 'promises made, promises kept' mentality,” McMullin said in a statement to Community Impact.

Council Member Place 5, which is currently held by Chris Whatley, and Place 6, held by McMullin, are also up for the May 2026 election.

McMullin was first elected as Keller’s Mayor Pro Tem in 2020 and was re-elected in May 2023. He garnered the support of 58.09% of voters in Keller in 2023, according to previous reporting.
