The overview
The eight lots will be located on 18.51 acres, according to city documents. They will be adjacent to the Watermere on Oak Street, a 55-and-older community, and an unnamed 30-lot subdivision, according to previous reporting.
A pre-construction meeting will be held to determine the construction timeline for the project, Roanoke Development Services Administrator JR Hames said.
Both single-family home communities will have no age restrictions, said Trevor Armstrong, a development manager at Integrated Real Estate Group, the development company for all three projects.
Watermere on Oak Street and the 30-lot subdivision was approved by City Council at its April 8 meeting, according to previous reporting.
Diving deeper
Watermere on Oak Street is a 10.85-acre development that will include apartment-style units, single-story villa units and penthouses, according to previous reporting.
Amenities will include a pool, community kitchen, lounge space, clubhouse, courtyards, pickleball courts, a salon and a fitness center, said Andrew Chapin, vice president of Integrated Real Estate Group.
Construction is set to begin Nov. 1 and finish by the end of May 2028, per previous reporting.

A six-lot development named Old Town Pointe was approved unanimously by City Council for single-family homes to be located on the corner of Dallas Drive and Turner Avenue, according to city documents.
The development will be on 1.81 acres. There will be one lot on 0.61 acres, one lot on 0.202 acres, two lots with 0.3 acres and two lots with 0.2 acres, per city documents.
A construction timeline will be determined after city staff and applicant Jacob Hawkins have a pre-construction meeting, Hames said.
Also of note
A new mixed-use development with offices and an undetermined restaurant was unanimously approved for construction by City Council.
The site plan, located at 307 S. Oak Street, includes a restaurant on the first floor and offices on the second floor. The building will be located on 0.43 acres.
A construction timeline will be established when applicant Vikram Jangam meets with city staff for a pre-construction meeting.
