Alan Blaylock, Fort Worth District 10 council member, will host a transportation workshop Dec. 12 to get feedback from district residents to help shape transportation plans in the city.

According to a District 10 news release, the workshop will be held at Truett Wilson Middle School, located at 14250 Sendera Ranch Blvd. in Haslet from 6:30-8:30 pm.

“Join me in reviewing early ideas for improving transportation in District 10,” Blaylock said. “We need your input to shape preliminary Moving a Million strategies to better serve our community. Make your voice heard, District 10!”

A closer look


The city’s Moving a Million plan is a comprehensive long-range initiative, which city documents state will be used by transportation planners to build a safe and effective multimodal network for the following types of transit:


  • Walking


  • Bikes


  • Automobiles


  • Micromobility


  • Freight and mass transit




Moving a Million, which has a 25-year planning horizon, incorporates the city’s Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, which seeks to end all roadway crashes in the city that result in serious injury or death.


City documents state some of the projects in the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, which was adopted by the city in November 2019, include:


  • Installing traffic calming bumps in neighborhoods that see speeding issues


  • Redesigning some roadways for safety


  • Investing in traffic safety programs, such as sidewalk and school zone maintenance programs
