Residents also have the option to pay half their property tax by Dec. 2 and pay the second half by June 30. No penalty or interest will accrue on the unpaid second half until after June 30, according to the release. If half the property tax is not paid by Dec. 2, then residents must pay in full by Jan. 31.
What you need to know
Payments may be made in person at any of the eight tax office locations. Locations are open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. There is an option to pay online or by phone at 817-884-1110. A fee will be charged for using debit and credit cards payable directly to the card provider by phone. Partial payments are accepted at any time after statements are mailed.
Residents can print tax statements from the new online portal or email [email protected] to request one. If requested, property tax statements were sent to mortgage companies escrowing taxes on the second week of October, said the release.
Something to note
Wendy Burgess, Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector, announced that “mineral values have yet to be obtained from the third party appraiser."
"When these values are available, statements will be mailed and available online for payment," Burgess said. "Values are expected to go down. If you pay early, you will likely receive a refund causing more confusion and cost.”
Additional details
