The Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved the use of AT&T Stadium as a voting location during their regular meeting Oct. 15. The site will only be used on Election Day and not as an early voting site.

The details

According to county documents, Tarrant County Elections worked with Cowboys Stadium L.P. staff to arrange the use of AT&T Stadium on Nov. 5 as a polling location for the general election.

County documents state voters can park in parking lot Silver 5 and use the East Main Platform, also known as Entry C, to enter the stadium. The agreement stipulated that the Tarrant County Elections Department will be allowed to use the facility at no cost.

The backstory


This isn’t the first time an NFL stadium has been used as a polling site. According to the league, during the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous stadiums were used across the country so voters could cast their votes while adhering to COVID-19 spacing restrictions. Eleven NFL stadiums were used in November 2020 as polling stations, including:
  • Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta
  • Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Ford Field in Detroit
  • Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin
  • NRG Park in Houston
