During the summer, Fort Worth Councilman Alan Blaylock’s office made back to school safety a priority by developing a five-step program.

To help ensure that student safety is a top priority, District Director Tara Holt said District 10 staff started off by providing every school principal in the district information necessary to make any school safety request to the city of Fort Worth with regard to the following:“This was a proactive step, and we will continue to support schools and parents as requests are made,” Holt said via email.

When the District 10 office receives a request, Holt outlined the five-step response plan as follows:
  • Contacting the principal’s office via a phone call
  • Follow up with an email that includes a traffic calming measures form
  • Share activity on social media
  • Share activity on the District 10 newsletter
  • Contact media about activity
