Keller City Council approved the purchase of three vehicles, traffic lights and a design contract for the Keller Sports Park during the Aug. 6 meeting.

What happened

The city purchased a Tymco street sweeper for $332,846.60 from the Waco-based business through a Buyboard purchasing cooperative that saved the city money, according city documents.

The vehicle is part of the 2024-25 fleet replacement fund. The street sweeper will have a 2023 Freightliner chassis with a John Deere Diesel engine.

Another purchase from the vehicle replacement fund was a 2025 Volvo VNR dump truck for the cost of $192,600. The vehicle is being purchased from Volvo & Mack Trucks of Waco, and also using the Buyboard agreement to save money, according to city documents.

The third vehicle purchase, also using Buyboard, was a 2025 Sewer camera van from Caldwell Country Chevrolet in Caldwell.

The cost of the van, on a Chevrolet chassis, is $370,225. Funding is provided for this from the fleet replacement fund as well as the water and wastewater utility fund, according to city documents.

Also on the agenda

The city also used Buyboard to purchase $164,500 in traffic signal lights from Paradigm Traffic Systems in Arlington. The cost was part of the fiscal year 2023-24 public works-street maintenance operation budget, according to city documents.

The city will get seven vision video systems as replacement traffic signals.

Council approved design services and contract administration with architecture and engineering firm Parkhill for $95,565 for work at Keller Sports Park.
