“All eight of the Tarrant County Tax Office locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to assist taxpayers with their property tax payments, but we encourage taxpayers to pay online whenever possible to avoid the crowds,” said Wendy Burgess, Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector.
There are several options when paying property taxes, according to the Tarrant County Tax Office website. They can be paid online at https://taxonline.tarrantcounty.com/TaxPayer or in person at all branch locations. Online e-check payments can be made with no additional convenience fee. Pay-by-phone is also available 24/7 at 817-884-1110. Online and phone payments must be completed by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on Jan. 31 to avoid penalties and interest. Incomplete and pending payments completed at or after midnight Central Standard Time on Feb. 1 will be posted accordingly.
Property tax payments can also be mailed in as well. If mailing in payment, it must be postmarked by Jan. 31 to avoid penalties and interest.
For taxpayers wanting to use a credit or debit card, payments can also be made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, but a convenience fee will be added.
For those needing help paying their property taxes, the Tarrant County Tax Office Customer Service Center has help available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at 817-884-1100.
Burgess encouraged taxpayers to not wait until the last minute and to at least make a partial payment if a full payment cannot be made.
“As online systems become heavily used in the last hour of the day, we recommend you start the online process earlier in the month to avoid complications and not waiting until Jan. 31,” Burgess said. “The Tarrant County Tax Office encourages citizens who cannot pay in full to make partial payments. Partial payments will be applied, and only the remaining balance will be subject to penalties rather than the full original amount due.”
The Tarrant County Tax Office began mailing property tax statements in early October, and all taxpaying residents should have received their statement, a press release stated. If a statement has not been received, then one can be printed through the county’s payment portal, or taxpayers can email [email protected] to receive their statement.
