It is time to start thinking about the next election.

Dec. 9 was the deadline for candidates to file to appear on the ballot for the Texas primary, which is scheduled for March 3.

This election serves to narrow down the field of Republicans and Democrats seeking elective office. The winners in March will become the nominees for their respective parties on the November ballot.

The primary ballot lists those seeking elective office at the county, state and national level. You can see a list of candidates online at communityimpact.com under the Keller-Roanoke-Northeast Fort Worth section. There are separate posts for Denton and Tarrant counties.

If you are not sure which state and congressional districts you live in, you can enter your address at http://wrm.capitol.texas.gov.

And if you are not yet registered to vote, you still have time. The deadline to register is Feb. 3.
