Residents of Roanoke gathered in historic downtown Oct. 12 for the 27th Annual Celebrate Roanoke Street Festival. The event had seven blocks of entertainment, including a live rodeo, several music acts, including a performance from Grammy Award nominee Pat Green, a comedy show, live wood carving and more.

The details

The event started at noon with calf scrambling and bullfighting in a makeshift rodeo from Chute 2 Productions, which is headed by Kelly Clark.

As a rodeo clown and barrel man, he distracts the bulls from the bullfighters, a job he's performed for 15 years.

“A lot of close calls, especially to the other bullfighters,” Clark said. “We always knock the bark off somebody.”

This is the third year in a row Clark has helped put on the show for the Annual Celebrate Roanoke Street Festival.

What else?

The event was capped off with a headlining performance by Texas country artist Green, as well as a Western-style drone show. Other activities included a petting zoo, Comedy Gunfighter Shows and pig races.
