Northwest ISD Trustee Place 5 Steve Sprowls officially launched his campaign to run for Texas House District 93 June 30.Northwest ISD Place 5 Trustee Steve Sprowls announced his campaign to run for Texas House District 93 June 30.

In a nutshell

Sprowls told Community Impact he plans to continue to serve NISD students, staff and families through the election process. He will have to resign from the board prior to taking the oath of office if he wins the election since the Texas Constitution normally prohibits individuals from holding more than one paid civil office at the same time.

Northwest ISD officials said his seat will be up in the May 2026 elections.

After Sprowls' announcement, district officials told Community Impact that Sprowls has provided “thoughtful guidance” for the board over the past eight years.

“He has advocated for strong career and technical education programs and acted in unison with fellow trustees to support all students,” officials said. “We are grateful for his service and his remaining time on the board.”

According to Sprowls’ campaign website, he is running to fight for families, students and hardworking Texans across the district. He said his experience as a board member has influenced his decision to run for the Texas House.

“I’ve seen firsthand how decisions in Austin impact our students and I’m tired of politicians ignoring our kids and putting them on the back burner for personal ambition,” Sprowls said in a news release.

District 93 represents north Fort Worth and parts of Saginaw, Haslet and Blue Mound.

“I look forward to contrasting my record of conservative achievement with my opponent in the days ahead,” Schatzline told Community Impact in a statement.
