Tarrant County and Denton County elections are finished and the two contested races with local implications featured decisive wins.

Mattie Parker finished with 66.37% of the vote between the two counties, tallying 26,369 total votes, with 26,092 coming in Tarrant County.

Her closest competition came from Josh Lucas, who had 7,058 votes, or 17.73%.

In Council District 4, Charlie Lauersdorf won a second term with a second straight win against Teresa Ramirez.


Lauersdorf had 3,934 votes, or 74.46%, while Ramirez had 1,363 votes, or 25.54%.

"District 4 spoke loud and clear; residents wanted pragmatic, common-sense leadership on city council," Lauersdorf said. "I'm honored to continue serving all of District 4 and to help keep Fort Worth the incredible city we love."

Alan Blaylock, the District 10 nominee, ran unopposed. He tallied 3,549 votes between the two counties. This will be Blaylock's third term and his second in District 10. He was the District 4 representative until redistricting prior to the 2023 election.

With a majority of Tarrant County reported, Mattie Parker has won another term as Fort Worth Mayor.

Tarrant County's latest election update shows 119 of 160 precincts at 10:13 p.m. Parker has surged to more than 24,000 votes in Fort Worth.

Parker has 24,962 votes between Tarrant and Denton counties. Her closest competitor, Josh Lucas, had a combined 6,544 votes, or 17.74%.


Charlie Lauersdorf extended his lead to more than 2,000 votes against Teresa Ramirez in District 4.

The incumbent has 3,829 votes, or 74.45%, while Ramirez has 1,314, or 25.55%, in the latest update.

Mayor Mattie Parker is nearing 19,000 votes between votes from Tarrant County and Denton County in the latest update election administrations.


Parker has 18,343 votes, or 67.8%, which is slightly down from her total after the release of early voting numbers. As of 9:50 p.m., Denton County reported all precincts reported their votes.

Parker's closest competitor is Josh Lucas, who has 4,595, or 16.98%.

Tarrant County shows 50 of 160 precincts reporting, as of 9:11 p.m.

For council District 4, Charlie Lauersdorf has 2,918 votes, or 75.85% in his race for re-election. Teresa Ramirez has garnered 929 votes, or 24.15%.

Tarrant County and Denton County released early voting totals for elections related to Fort Worth City Council and mayor races.

What you need to know

There were eight candidates for mayor, with incumbent Mattie Parker facing seven challengers. After the first release, Parker has garnered 16,511 votes, or 68.51%.

Parker's opponents included Donnell Ballard, Alyson Kennedy, Jeremy F. Labelle, Josh Lucas, Lawrence E. Walker II, Chris Wood and Millennium Anton C. Woods Jr.

Lucas is in second place after early voting totals with 3,955 votes, or 16.41%.

Parker became Fort Worth’s 45th mayor after winning a runoff for the position in 2021. She won re-election in May 2023 facing four opponents, garnering 70% of the vote to get a second term.

Also of note

All 10 Fort Worth City Council spots were also on the ballot. Locally, there was only one contested race: District 4.

Incumbent Charles Lauersdorf is ahead with with 2,858 votes, or 76.29% after early voting. Teresa Ramirez has 888 votes, or 23.71%. The two ran against each other in 2023.

In District 10, Alan Blaylock is running unopposed. He garnered 2,328 votes in early voting.
