A mayor’s race is among the multiple local government races that will be decided on the May 4 ballot in Keller, Roanoke and northeast Fort Worth.

The filing period closed at 5 p.m. Feb. 16.

Keller races

The Keller City Council races include Place 1 and Place 2.

Place 1 incumbent Shannon Dubberly is running unopposed for the seat.


Place 2 incumbent Sean Hicks is not seeking re-election. The candidates for Place 2 are:
  • Zane J. Kupper
  • Greg Will
  • Robert Slattery
  • Frank Roszell
Roanoke races

The Roanoke City Council races include a seat for mayor, Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 3.

The candidates for mayor are:
  • Incumbent Scooter Gierisch
  • Sean Turner
Incumbents Hogan Page, Bryan Moyers and David Thompson are running unopposed for the Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 3 seats, respectively.

Fort Worth election


Fort Worth will next elect council members in 2025, but this year the city is holding a venue tax election. The city is requesting voters to approve a 2% increase in the hotel occupancy tax rate to help pay for escalating costs in the city’s convention center expansion.

School district races

In Northwest ISD, Deanne Hatfield will retain her seat, as she is running unopposed for Place 1. The candidates for Place 2 are:
  • Incumbent Mark Schluter
  • Amanda J. Smith
Keller ISD will have elections for Place 6 and Place 7.

The candidates for Place 6 are:
  • Board President and incumbent Charles Randklev
  • Adrienne Sullivan
The candidates for Place 7 are:Tarrant Appraisal District races


A new law that went into effect in January requires the Tarrant Appraisal District to increase its board by three members, elected to staggered four-year terms.

The candidates for Place 1 are:
  • Eric Morris
  • Sayeda Bilqees Syed
  • Trae Fowler
The candidates for Place 2 are:
  • Callie Rigney
  • Eric B. Crile
The candidates for Place 3 are:
  • Chuck Kelley
  • Matt Bryant
  • Lee Henderson

The last day to register to vote in the May 4 election is April 4. Early voting begins April 22.
