According to district documents, bus driver responsibilities include:
- Driving a bus daily following an assigned route and adhering to established schedules
- Driving a bus to and from extracurricular activities
- Performing pre- and post-trip inspections according to specifications to ensure bus can be operated safely
- Keeping the assigned bus clean
- Maintaining discipline and using effective behavior management control over groups of students
- Assisting students with disabilities on and off the bus according to their individual needs
According to district documents, qualified applicants will need a valid commercial driver’s license. Training is paid by the district to obtain a CDL for those applicants who do not already possess one.
Pay ranges for the following positions include:
- Full-time bus driver: $25,806 to $34,782 per year
- Part-time bus driver: $23 to $31 per hour
- Bus driver trainee: $11 per hour
- Bus monitor: $13,230 to $16,538 per year
