Keller ISD board members got a preview of the 2025-26 instructional calendar during their regular meeting Nov. 21. If approved, students will be going back to school Aug. 13, 2025.

The specifics

According to district documents, requirements for instructional calendars include:
  • Students must attend school for 75,600 minutes per instructional year
  • Professional development days must be included and can count toward total minutes
  • Districts must have additional banked minutes to use for bad weather days
  • Teachers must work 187 days
Jennifer Price, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, said the district surveyed teachers to gain input for next year’s calendar.

“The big question that everyone wanted to know is are we going to have a fall break?” Price said. “The answer is yes. Teachers really seem to like that from the feedback we received.”
