The Keller ISD Education Foundation awarded grants and professional development scholarships to 58 educators at 34 campuses during its "Grantsgiving" event Nov. 14-20.

According to a district news release, KISD Education Foundation staff and board members surprised this year's award recipients with more than $125,000 that will help support learning initiatives, including:
  • Sensory-inclusive classrooms
  • Outdoor musical learning spaces
  • Advanced technology integration
  • Hands-on learning experiences
“The passion and innovation of our teachers continue to inspire us," said Jennifer Vaughn, board chair of the Keller ISD Education Foundation. "These grants are a testament to their commitment to creating meaningful, engaging and enriching opportunities for students.”

The news release states money was awarded to schools in all four high school feeder patterns in the district. Projects include:
  • "Mobile Math Lab" at Friendship Elementary School
  • "Headphones for Education" at Parkview Elementary School
  • "Wiggle, Jump, Explore and Learn" at Keller-Harvel Elementary School
  • "Mock Grocery Store" at Eagle Ridge Elementary School
