The details
Angel Tree programs provide gifts during the holiday season—such as clothing or toys—for children of families in need through the support of donors. According to a Northwest ISD news release, more than 1,900 students are available for community members to support this year by providing gifts.
The news release stated that the district’s Angel Tree is virtual, which means that donors can visit the NISD's Angel Tree website where they will find children who need assistance listed anonymously.
Beyond individual donors, the news release states that organizations such as district partners, businesses and faith-based entities are welcome to participate in the virtual Angel Tree program.
What you need to know
There are a few steps to complete when becoming an Angel Tree donor:
- Select a child or children to support by visiting angeltree.nisdtx.org
- Purchase a new gift(s) - $150 is the suggested price per angel
- Deliver the Angel Tree items, along with a printed copy of the form for the angel, to the Dennis McCreary Multipurpose Facility—the former Pike Middle School gymnasium—located at 2200 Texan Drive in Justin by Dec. 2. Items will be accepted beginning on Nov. 18
The district welcomes volunteers to sign-up to help receive and sort gifts, according to the news release.
