Keller ISD board of trustees announced on Sept. 26 that Traci Kraeszig will serve as the new director of special education for Keller ISD.

According to a news release, Kraeszig is currently serving as the principal of the Early Learning Center South, where she has been since 2021.

“Mrs. Kraeszig has extensive experience with our special education programs and a strong background as a campus principal, making her a great addition to our team,” said KISD Executive Director of Special Education Lynn Jameson. “She has a proven ability to build strong relationships with other administrators and families. We are excited for her to join our team and expand her impact within our department.”

The news release states Kraeszig began her education career as a teacher in Louisiana and joined Keller ISD in 2002 where she has served in the following capacities:
  • Teacher
  • Instructional specialist
  • Assistant principal
  • Principal
According to the news release, Kraeszig earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana Tech University.

“It’s an honor to serve the families of Keller ISD in this new capacity,” Kraeszig said. “Our special education department works tirelessly to provide exceptional services and support to our students, and I am excited to join the leadership team.”

She added she and her husband have not only been Keller ISD parents, but special education parents, as well.

“That makes this appointment even more profound,” Kraeszig said.


The news release states Keller ISD officials have already begun the search for a new principal at ELC South. While Kraeszig officially began her new role Sept. 27, she will remain at ELC South until a new principal is hired.
