Zooming in

According to the news release, elementary school staff will contact families of students by phone or email beginning Aug. 8 regarding schedule availability and teacher assignments. This information will be available online via the Home Access Center on the following dates:
  • Aug. 9 for secondary students
  • Aug. 13 for elementary students
The news release states beginning in the 2024-25 school year, NISD schools will use an online form for parents and guardians to report student absences. A verification email will be sent to the parent or guardian email address on record, so students will not be able to submit their absences without approval. In addition, each school front lobby will have a sign with a QR code and website link for quick access to the form.

Finally, families of elementary students are welcome to walk their students in during the first week of school, Aug. 14-16, according to the news release. Back-to-school events also include:
  • Elementary schools will host meet-the-teacher events on Aug. 12.
  • High schools will host meet-the-teams events, which are community rally-style gatherings, on Aug. 12.
District residents can visit www.nisdtx.org/backtoschool for a list of events by campus.
