According to a district news release, the five reminders include information on:
- Student enrollment
- New school start and dismissal times
- Schedule availability and teacher assignment
- Absence reporting
- First week procedures and back-to-school events
According to the news release, enrolling a student can be completed at www.nisdtx.org/enrollment. Several documents are required for enrollment, including:
- Proof of residency
- Immunization record updates
- Elementary schools start at 7:40 a.m. and end at 3:05 p.m.
- Middle schools start at 8:50 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m.
- High schools start at 8:25 a.m. and end at 3:50 p.m.
- Steele Early College High School starts at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:40 p.m.
- Special Programs Center starts at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 3:50 p.m.
According to the news release, elementary school staff will contact families of students by phone or email beginning Aug. 8 regarding schedule availability and teacher assignments. This information will be available online via the Home Access Center on the following dates:
- Aug. 9 for secondary students
- Aug. 13 for elementary students
Finally, families of elementary students are welcome to walk their students in during the first week of school, Aug. 14-16, according to the news release. Back-to-school events also include:
- Elementary schools will host meet-the-teacher events on Aug. 12.
- High schools will host meet-the-teams events, which are community rally-style gatherings, on Aug. 12.
