The details
According to a district news release, full-time employees working during the summer will work 10-hour days Monday through Thursday. Employees will work remotely on Mondays in order to close buildings on those days as a cost-saving measure. Public business hours will be 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday each week through July 26.
A closer look
During their regular board meeting on April 25, Keller ISD board members received a budget update from Assistant Superintendent John Allison that projected a $27.43 million shortfall for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Allison said that a $3.94 million increase in utilities contributed to the shortfall.
What you need to know
The news release states that campus employees can be reached by email while they are working remotely on Mondays, but may not be able to return all phone calls received until they return to campus.
The district will be closed during the following dates:
- June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday
- July 1 through 5, as employees will be out on non-paid leave
