As part of the federal Summer Food Service Program, Northwest ISD will offer free meals to students at Prairie View Elementary School and Clara Love Elementary School.

The details

The program is being offered to children 18 or younger as well as students with disabilities who are ages 21 and younger, according to a district news release.

The news release states that free food service will be available Monday through Friday, June 5-30. Breakfast will be offered from 8–9:00 a.m. and lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Prairie View Elementary School is located at 609 FM 3433 in Rhome. Clara Love Elementary School is located at 16301 Elementary Drive in Justin.


The backstory

According to the news release, the Summer Food Service Program is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture. It is intended for children that are in the free and reduced-price lunch program who rely on school meals during the school year.
