The Northwest ISD special education parent advisory committee is a parent-led organization that collaborates with district administration, educators, staff and community members to promote awareness of special education efforts in the district. New members applications are currently being accepted through May 15 for the 2024-25 school year.

According to a district news release, SEPAC members call upon the following tools to promote awareness and positive outcomes for students:
  • Family or personal experiences
  • Unique perspectives
  • Special education expertise
The news release states that SEPAC is looking for the following members of the community to join the organization:
  • Parents, family and guardians of students receiving special education services
  • Students
  • Northwest ISD educators, administrators and employees
