The Keller ISD Council of Parent Teacher Associations will host the 27th annual Casey's Kids Fun Run/5K and Family Health Expo event March 2 at Bear Creek Park, located at 400 Bear Creek Park Road in Keller.

According to the race website, the KISD Council of PTAs is partnering with KISD to host the event. The fun run is approximately 0.8 miles and will begin at 8 a.m., with the 5K following at 8:30 a.m.

According to the website, Casey's Kids was formed in 1997 when Janie Casey, a former KISD counselor, discovered a student was missing school due to a lack of clothing. With the help of the KISD Council of PTAs, the effort eventually turned into a districtwide initiative that assists students who needed clothing, school supplies and other essential items.


The website states funds raised from the event will go to support these students.

What you need to know

Cost for the 5K run is $35 and $20 for the fun run, according to the website. Other race information includes:
  • Packet pickup is Feb. 29 and March 1 at Bear Creek Running Co. in Keller.
  • Event day packet pickup opens at 6:45 a.m. at Bear Creek Park.
  • Parking at the event is limited. Free shuttles from Bear Creek Intermediate School, located at 801 Bear Creek Parkway, will be available.
  • The school with the most registrations for the event will host the Casey's Cup in their school for the 2024-25 school year.
