Northwest ISD has named Carrie Pierce as the inaugural principal of Perrin Elementary School, the district’s 23rd elementary school. Located at 1073 Canyon Maple Drive in Fort Worth, the school will open in the Wildflower Ranch master-planned community this August.

The backstory

According to the news release, Pierce has worked for the district for the past 19 years. Her titles include:
  • Principal of Curtis Elementary School since its opening in 2018
  • Principal of Hatfield Elementary School
  • Teacher or administrator at four additional Northwest ISD elementary schools
While Pierce will continue to serve as principal of Curtis Elementary School until the end of the 2023-24 school year, the news release stated that she will soon begin hiring teachers and support staff for Perrin Elementary.

“I’m thrilled to serve the Perrin Elementary School community in the heart of Northwest ISD, and I look forward to working with our students and staff to establish traditions that will be passed down for generations,” Pierce said. “The namesakes of our school left a mark in our school district, and I look forward to honoring their legacy further.”


A closer look

Perrin Elementary School is named for Alan and Andra Perrin, who both worked for the district. According to a district news release, Alan served as a teacher and coach at Northwest High School, while Andra served students in several roles including:
  • Teacher
  • Principal at Roanoke Elementary School and Justin Elementary School
  • Leading the district’s instructional technology programs
The news release stated that Pierce earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in elementary education, both from the University of New Mexico.
