Five Northwest ISD schools are teaming up with a goal to send United States military personnel holiday cards for the 10,000 for the Troops holiday card drive.

According to a district news release, card collection started Sept. 5 and ends Nov. 3. The five schools include:
  • Carter Elementary
  • Haslet Elementary
  • J.C. Thompson Elementary
  • Sendera Ranch Elementary
  • Wilson Middle School
Last year, Sendera Ranch and J.C. Thompson passed their combined 2,000-card collection goal, crafting and collecting over 2,300 holiday cards for U.S. troops, according to a news release. This year, the five NISD schools will strive to reach a goal of 2,500 cards.

The news release states that the 10,000 for the Troops holiday card drive is in partnership with KSCS and Support Our Soldiers.

Parents and siblings of students in the schools mentioned above may send any homemade cards to school with their student, according to the news release. Students will be able to place the cards in the appropriate collection box.
