Jennifer Price, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, presented the list of more than 1,000 books to the board.
“Feedback has been received from the community, and based on the feedback, the administration recommends amending the proposed list by removing the titles we received feedback on,” Price said.
Price closed out her presentation stating that the removed titles would be reviewed and further analyzed before being returned to the board of trustees for their further consideration.

Thirty-two books were removed from the original list. They included titles at all school levels, from elementary school to middle school to high school.
Keller ISD board of trustees approved a new policy for evaluating school library books during their Aug. 22, 2022, meeting. That 5 1/2 hour meeting, featured more than 3 1/2 hours of public comment.
