Superintendent Mark Fouse presented a new compensation plan for the 2023-24 school year to the board of trustees at the June 12 meeting. The board voted to approve the plan June 26.
What you need to know
- The plan includes a 3% midpoint pay raise for all employees and an increase to the starting teacher salary to $60,100.
- All full-time employees of the district who will return and work for the district during the 2023-24 school year will receive the midpoint raise.
- The district will also increase its contribution to medical insurance for employees on a district health plan by $25 per month, making the total district contribution to medical insurance $325 per month.
- This raise is the second-largest annual increase to district employee salaries in the past six years.
- The midpoint raise system allows all employees’ salaries to grow at the same rate, regardless of how much their salaries are.
- To calculate the salary raise, employees would multiply the midpoint of their position’s pay grade by 0.03 and add that amount to their existing salary.
- Qualifying employees see this raise on their first paycheck of the school year.
- Other updates to the district’s compensation plan include an early resignation incentive; a one-time salary advancement for employees joining the district; updates to the temporary, extra-duty pay scale; and a guest educator tiered schedule.
