Northwest ISD will hold classes Feb. 20, as a makeup day from a recent winter storm closure.

The school’s 2022-23 academic calendar had enough minutes built in to absorb two of the five days missed from Jan. 30-Feb. 3. However, additional instruction minutes will have to be added in addition to the Feb. 20 makeup date.

NISD is awaiting guidance from the Texas Education Agency if additional school days could be considered for a waiver before proceeding with more makeup dates, the school said in a press release.

If a waiver is not granted, the school will announce additional changes in the coming weeks, the press release stated.

Keller ISD missed four days Jan. 31-Feb. 3 but will not have to make up any of those days. School officials said the 2022-23 school calendar had bad-weather days built into the instruction times.
