The Keller board of trustees approved the name for the new agriscience building during the Oct. 24 meeting.

A naming committee of parents, staff, students and community members met Oct. 20 and suggested the Agriscience Learning Center, which was approved unanimously.

The building, located on North Beach Street in Fort Worth, is scheduled to open in December. It was one of nine new facilities funded through the $315 million bond passed in November 2019.

Originally planned to be a mix of industrial trades and agriscience, the projects were split up. The Keller Center for Advanced Learning Industrial Trades building addition is being constructed as well near Trinity Middle School.

The new agriscience building will have classrooms and exposition space, and livestock can be held there. Livestock is currently held at Christ’s Haven’s facilities through a partnership with the district.

The original planned completion date was this spring, but supply chain issues led to delays in the construction.
