State releases spring STAAR results for Northwest ISD

Northwest ISD’s state assessment scores were released Aug. 15.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, test elementary and junior high students for reading and mathematics proficiency. Certain grades are also tested in writing, social studies and science.

High school students are tested in algebra, biology, English and history.

“I am pleased with the hard work from our staff and students,” NISD Superintendent Ryder Warren said. “We will continue to strive for academic excellence for every child every day; however, we also use so much more to measure excellence beyond one test score in Northwest ISD.”

The Texas Education Agency also released A-F accountability ratings for the 2018-19 school year Aug. 15. See how NISD schools scored.
