Construction has started on Portillo’s at Tanger Outlets Fort Worth.

The details

A news release stated Portillo’s will join Tanger Outlets’ growing food and beverage mix in late 2025. The exact date for the opening was not provided by the outlet or Portillo’s. The restaurant's website also lists the opening as later this year.

The restaurant will serve Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, chargrilled burgers and Portillo's famous chocolate cake, according to its website.

The 6,160-square-foot restaurant will feature a “Restaurant of the Future” design, similar to the one that opened in Grapevine in 2024, according to previous reporting.

The dining room can accommodate about 120 guests and will also be an outdoor patio, dual drive-through lanes and a grab-and-go retail area, according to the news release.

A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the restaurant has an estimated cost of $4.5. million. It will be located close to H&M at the outdoor mall, according to the news release.
