Deanna Robinson, who opened Kid Kakes in The 206 food hall in February, has opened The Foodery right next door.

The details

Robinson, who started Kid Kakes after her children got the idea for selling cupcakes in the neighborhood, decided to open The Foodery once the food counter next to hers became open.

Robinson said she started out with a few items on the menu—chicken tenders and hamburgers—but soon called upon her culinary experience to expand the menu.

“We got to a month [of operations] and we had chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, chicken salad, different kinds of hamburgers and ribs,” Robinson said.

Currently, the menu has grown to include salads, cheese steaks and pizzas with whatever ingredients diners want on them that The Foodery serves. Other menu items include sloppy mac and cheese, sloppy fries and the daddy mac, which features hamburger patties sitting on top a serving of mac and cheese.

“All of our foods are concoctions to make you happy,” Robinson said.
