After an extended soft opening phase, Oak Street in downtown Roanoke has a new upscale lounge with The Rô On Oak.

Dubbed The Rô, the concept seeks to combine the swankiness of Upper East New York City with the cool comfort of the Hollywood Hills, according to a news release. The cocktail lounge officially began service at full capacity Nov. 16.

Co-owners and childhood friends Gabriel Miller and Jonathan Condos sought to create an establishment where ordinary nights out could be turned into memorable experiences, the release states.

The lounge features a wood-clad entryway, with a violet marble-topped custom bar serving as the centerpiece of The Rô. Leaded glass panels sourced from a historic Fort Worth home line the back bar, framed by antique sconces from a French abbey.

Drinks are inspired and named after rock ‘n’ roll hits. The menu highlights include a goat cheese bruschetta, flatbreads, charcuterie boards, iceberg wedges and more.
