The barbecue stop first started in 2017 serving breakfast tacos in the morning and barbecue in the afternoon to the community in its food truck at the Keller Farmers Market as well as other local events.
JR said they decided to open a storefront because they felt it was time for more space, since the trailer is somewhat limiting. However, once the storefront opens, they will still use the food truck for special events.
Vanessa, who works on the behind-the-scenes aspects of JR’s BBQ-N-More, said she and JR both grew up in family-owned restaurants. She said opening the storefront “is our step into that family tradition.”
“We both grew up in restaurants, so it's our passion, and we're the third generation to have a restaurant in our families,” Vanessa said.
