Six two-story townhomes in Roanoke are approaching completion, with some still available for purchase, according to the property developer.

What’s happening

Amr Elborai, the CEO of Elborai Group, is the developer of the Morningside Townhomes. He said the residences cost roughly $6 million to build. The starting price of the homes are more than $1.3 million.

“I think they’ll be [selling] quickly,” he said.

Three of the townhomes have already sold and buildout is expected to be done by the end of July, Elborai said.

The overview

Roanoke City Council approved the development in 2022 and construction began in August 2023. The townhomes range from 3,600-4,000 square feet with three or four bedrooms, according to Elborai Group’s website.

Some of the amenities include:
  • Outside courtyards
  • Laundry rooms
  • Rooftop balconies
  • Built-in closets
  • 3-car garages
Additionally, owners can choose to add an elevator for an extra $30,000, Elborai said.

The inspiration

Elborai said he saw the empty land near Oak Street when he was renting at The Residences at Roanoke City Center. He gathered information from his neighbors about the kind of development they would want.

“I learned that a lot of them didn’t really like the three stories,” he said on his development plans behind Morningside Townhomes. “They didn’t really like the primary bedroom upstairs. They wanted it downstairs, and they were wishing they had bigger units.”
